In Excel, the process to splitting columns is slightly different. You will need to have an empty column to the right of the column you wish to split into two.
Then select the entire column you wish to split by clicking its header.
Now that the column is selected, do the following:
Go to Data in your Excel toolbar, then select "Text to Columns".
In the Text to Columns window, select Delimited > Next
Now, select the character you wish for the column to be split by. For this example, we will choose the Space, meaning that the column will be separated by the space in each row thus adding them to a new column.
Then, click Finish and the changes will be applied.
