Welcome to EZ Texting! Our #1 goal is to help you succeed with texting. To get you started, we’ve put together a video that covers the most important things you’ll need to know to get rolling. We’ve also put together some tips on how to do some key tasks with EZ Texting.
There are two ways to add contacts – by uploading a spreadsheet or adding them one by one.
Adding contacts from a spreadsheet:
To start, navigate to "Contacts & Groups” option from the left navigation menu and select "Mass Upload Contacts" from at the top of the display table
Step 1: Browse for your contact file or drag your file into the page.
To make it easier, we also have a contact list template you can download and a tutorial video you can watch.
Step 2: Map Contact data to EZ Texting Fields
After you upload your contact list, use the dropdown menus to map the contact information to the appropriate fields within your EZ Texting account. Phone Number is the only required field. First Name, Last Name, Email address, and Notes are the other default options.
If you need additional data fields, you can create up to 5 custom fields. To do that, click the "Add New Contact Field” button at the bottom right or select "Add Contact Field" from the dropdown menus at the top of the columns.
After defining the field, click the "Create" button.
When your fields are mapped and created, click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page to move to the next step.
Adding contacts individually:
- Log in to your EZ Texting account.
- On the left nav, click on Contacts & Groups.
- Under Contacts, click on Add a Contact.
- Complete all the information, consider adding them to a group, then click Save.
Step 1: Choose Your Recipients
Choose which contact group(s) or individuals you’d like to receive the text message. You can also manually type additional or alternative recipient phone numbers separated by commas, in 10 digit format with no spaces or symbols (i.e. 6789313113).
Step 2: Write a Message
Type the body of the message to be sent.
- Optional: Add a Subject
A Subject appears in front of the incoming text message in parentheses; useful to identify yourself or your organization.
- Choose a Type of Message
If your message will be longer than 160 character or needs to include an image/media file the tool will prompt you to send the message as a MMS message.
Step 3: Schedule Delivery
Set the time to queue the text message for delivery (if you want to send the text immediately, no need to change any settings!)
Step 4: SEND!
These are just the first, most basic steps of getting started with EZ Texting. We have lots more information and help if you need it:
