There are three ways to add opted-in contacts to your EZ account:
Please note that contacts must be opted into your text list in order to send them text messages. If you're unsure if you have received opt in consent from your contacts, click here to learn more in this quick guide. And if you encounter roadblocks with any of these methods please refer to our troubleshooting page.
To get started for any of the three methods, click Contacts on the left nav and then select the blue Add Contacts button in the upper right corner.

How to Upload a List
Before you upload a spreadsheet, please note that it must be in an .XLS, .XLSX, or .CSV file format and all phone numbers should have a valid, 10-digit US or Canadian number, such as 555-555-5555.
Tip: The system will scrub or remove invalid numbers and duplicates automatically if they do not conform. Also, if a contact is uploaded to multiple groups, they will still only receive one message from the campaign sent to all of those groups at once. Parentheses and dashes are safe to upload.
Under the Add Contacts page, click Upload. Then click "Select a File" or drag your file to the upload page if your contacts are in a spreadsheet (.XLS, .XLSX, or .CSV files only).
Now, here is the important step which is mapping your contacts to the EZ application.
Based on how your original list is formatted, the system may read some of the column headers incorrectly. To avoid this, toggle the dropdown menus at the top of each column to correctly match the input data. For example, you will want to make sure the column with your phone numbers is labeled as "Phone Number". Then click Continue.
Now you can "Select a group" or "Create a new group". Default groups included are the "Keyword," "Widget," and the "Test" group.
After your upload is complete, it will appear on your Contacts page and you can review your upload history by click the notification bell at the top right of your account. Also, you can toggle the filter to view contacts that are added only within a certain group.
Please note that if you are uploading over a thousand contacts that it may take longer than a few minutes to upload. If your upload is stuck and not appearing under the notification bell, check out how to troubleshoot the issue or contact us.
How to Add Individual Contacts
Under the Add Individual tab you can enter an individual's contact information in the provided fields. Please note that the phone number field is the only requirement.

How to Add Contacts Using the Copy/Paste Method
This an ideal solution if you have contacts in a document you wish to copy and paste into the EZ app.
On the Add Contacts page click the COPY/PASTE tab.
When using this option only one contact can be pasted per line. Each field must be separated by a comma in order to be recognized correctly when imported.
Contacts must be pasted using one of the following two formats:
1. 2127846500, John, Doe, JohnDoe@jd.com, met at the convention
2. 2127846500, John
Note: Your account may log out automatically as a security precaution. If you feel this step may be long or tedious, it is recommended that you use the "Upload a List" option.
After you have filled out the appropriate fields click Next.
This step will allow you to make sure that your contacts are mapped correctly so that the EZ app places your information into the correct columns. If you find that any of the headers do not match simply toggle the dropdown menu at the top of the column and choose the correct header, or select the "Add Contact Field" button to create more custom fields.
Once you have completed this step you can click Continue, then choose Select a Group or Create a New Group on the final step to save your new contacts.
