To re-add opted out contacts to a texting campaign, contacts have to text one of your keywords to your short code. If you've opted-out yourself, you will also have to do the same thing.
Note: Same opt-in rules apply to accounts registered with a toll-free long code number only.
What is a Keyword and Short Code?
- Short Code: This is an authorized phone number that allows you to send texts from your account without getting blocked as spam.
- Keyword: A unique code that contacts can use to opt into your account automatically
When you sign up for EZ Texting, you will automatically be assigned to a short code number. All accounts let you have at least one demo keyword that can be used for your contacts (and you) to opt back in to a texting list.
You can find your short code by clicking on the profile icon in the upper right corner of the homepage or on the Learn More link at the top of the Keywords & Numbers page.
Your keyword is also located on the Keywords & Numbers in the left navigation. Demo keywords start with the letters "ez" and are completely free to use.
Once you have located your keyword and short code phone number, go ahead and text the keyword from your phone to the short code number.
After you have done so, you will receive an auto-reply. If you receive a message such as "service access denied" instead of a normal auto-reply, please contact your provider to make sure that you or the contact can receive texts from a short code.
