Message Performance
The Messages tab allows you to monitor your message performance at a higher level in order to track your engagement with your contacts.
To see these details for only a certain period of time, first toggle the Date Range at the top right of the page.
What does each value mean?
First, select the 'Value' tab below the graph.
Here you will be able to evaluate the following information:
- Delivered Messages: Total number of messages successfully delivered based on the dates you specified
- Bounced Messages: Total number of messages that bounced based on the dates you specified. ‘Bounced’ meaning we attempted to deliver your message to your contact(s) but the message was rejected.
- Why does this happen?
- A ‘short code block’ was set up by the recipient, which blocks their device from receiving any messages sent from a short code
- A recipient’s device may not be eligible to receive text messages
- The phone number is a landline or non-textable number
- Why does this happen?
- Replies: Total replies based on the dates you specified are calculated by counting every time a contact replies even if a single contact replies multiple times. This number is not based on unique replies.
- Clicks: Total clicks based on the dates you specified are calculated by counting every time a contact clicks or taps on a link even if a single contact clicks or taps on the link multiple times. This number is not based on unique clicks or taps.
- Unsubscribes: Total number of contacts who unsubscribed based on the dates you specified. If a contact first sends a reply, but then sends an opt out request, the contact’s response will only be counted as an opt out.
How are the percentages determined?
Select the 'Percentage' tab below the graph.
Each type of percentage represents the following:
- Delivery rate (%): The rate at which messages were successfully delivered based on the dates you specified. This value is calculated by total number delivered divided by total number sent within time frame selected at the top of the page.
- Bounce rate (%): This is calculated by total number of bounced messages divided by total number of sent messages within the dates you specified.
- Reply rate (%): This is calculated by total number of contacts responded divided by total number of contacts originally messaged within the dates you specified. Reply rate is based on unique replies or is counted once for every contact that has replied.
- Click rate (%): This is calculated by total number of contacts who clicked divided by total number of contacts originally messaged within the dates you specified. Click rate is counted once for every contact that clicked and will only track links that were created in EZ Texting Link shortener.”
- Unsubscribe Rate (%): This is calculated by total number of unsubscribed contacts divided by your total number of contacts within the dates you specified. If the contact first sent a reply, but then sent an opt out request, the contact’s response will only be counted as an opt out.
Contacts Growth & Health
Under the Contacts tab, you will see a clear view of much your contact list is growing or how many contacts are unsubscribing.
What does each value mean under the Contacts tab?
When you have the 'Value' tab selected under the graph, you will see the following:
- Subscribed: Total number of contacts added or subscribed based on the dates you specified
- Unsubscribed: Total number of contacts who unsubscribed or replied with an opt out request within the dates you specified
- Contact growth: The total number of contacts your contact book has increased or decreased by. This number is calculated by total number of subscribed contacts minus unsubscribed contacts during the dates you specified.
How are the Contacts percentages determined?
When the 'Percentage' tab is selected under the graph, the following will be shown:
- Subscribe rate (%): The rate at which contacts are added or subscribed based on the dates you specified. To get this calculation we divide the number of subscribed contacts by your total number of contacts within the dates you specified
- Unsubscribe rate (%): The rate at which contacts unsubscribe or reply with an opt out request based on the dates you specified. To get this calculation we divide the number of unsubscribed contacts by your total number of contacts within the dates you specified.
- Contact Growth Rate (%): The rate at which your contacts have increased or decreased based on the dates you specified. To get this calculation we subtract unsubscribed from subscribed contacts and then divide by total number of contacts within the dates your specified.
